KAYAK ECO-TOURS
No kayaking experience necessary!
We love to kayak. We
offer kayak tours all year long as long as the weather permits. Tours are 2 1/2
hours long and include all necessary kayak gear and a guide. We have double and
single kayaks available. We have several tours to choose from.
CHILDREN'S ACTIVITY TOUR:
$29 adult/$15 child (under 12 yrs. old and shares a double
kayak w/adult)
 This
tour is geared toward children but adults enjoy it just as much. The salt
marshes of the outer banks
are home to an astonishing variety of plants and animals. We try to get a closer
look at some of the bird life we'll bring a seine net, dip nets, bucket and
catch some of the marsh creatures. These can include many varieties of fish,
crabs, shrimp, clams, oysters, mussels and more. We'll take a look, learn a
little about their life and then let them go. Great wet fun on a hot afternoon.
This tour is available Monday - Saturday. Morning and afternoon tours.
Location: Leaves from Roanoke Island, Nags Head area and Cape Hatteras
National Seashore (Oregon Inlet Marina) only.
WILDLIFE
ECO-TOUR:
$29 adult/$15 child (under 12 yrs. old and shares a double
kayak w/adult)
This tour is geared more toward adults but children are welcome. The Outer
Banks is home to many types of wildlife. During this tour we'll search for the
abundance of birds such as osprey, herons, egrets, ducks and other birds. Along
the way you'll find out about the natural history of the Outer Banks and its
plants and animals. This tour is available 7 days a week. Morning and afternoon
tours. Locations vary around Roanoke Island and Nag Head according
to wind directions.
ALLIGATOR RIVER NATIONAL WILDLIFE TOUR:
$35 adult/$20 child (under 12 yrs old and
shares a double kayak with adult)
Explore the wilder side of the Outer Banks.
This 3 hour tour to Alligator River NWR winds through the pocosin and woods of
one of the most unusual areas around. We look for the American Alligator
which live in these creeks. The water is a beautiful black from the
cypress trees which reflects the surrounding trees and plants for stunning
pictures. Songbirds, the occasional black bear or bobcat and of course the
reptiles are what we look and listen for. You won't believe you are only
15 minutes from the beach!
BIOLUMINESCENCE TOUR:
$29 adult/$15 child (under 12 yrs old and
shares a double kayak w/adult)
During the warm
summer months and the dark of the new moon, the waters of the salt marshes around the outer banks come alive
with bioluminescence. Every movement in the water produces light! From the
swirl of your paddle or the trail of a school of fish (which look like
blue-green underwater bottle rockets). No need to travel to the Caribbean to
see this phenomenon. The tour lasts 2 to 2.5 hours and is a must see.
We supply the lights and cylume sticks. Location: Nags Head area.
FULL MOON TOURS:
$29 adult/$15 child (under 12 yrs. old and
shares a double kayak w/adult)
Peacefull,
tranquil and beautiful, our full moon tours are all of these. One of our
favorite tours, we meet right before sunset, get our gear and head out to
watch the sunset and the moon rise. You will be amazed at what you see, even
at night: birds, fish, bioluminescent jellyfish help to light our way. This
tour is about 2 hours long.
SUNSET TOUR:
$29 adult/$15 child (under 12 yrs. old and shares a double
kayak w/adult)
There is no better way to end the day
and enjoy the sunset than to do it on the water. We head out before sunset
so we are in place to enjoy the view. We return just before dark.
Bring your own beverage or snack and relax, island style. Available most evenings. Locations vary according to wind directions.
